Krischelle + Lachlan

In May 2018 Krischelle and Lachy celebrated their engagement. It was an elegant and refined affair and as I would come to learn perfectly captured the classic style of this gorgeous Brisbane couple. Krischelle had reached out to us with her ideas for their engagement cake - Clean lines, polished finish, touches of white blooms and a little bit of solid gold opulence. I can remember the over-the-moon-speechless shock on both of their faces when they arrived to our studio to collect their engagement cake.

The wonderful thing about an engagement celebration is that it is essentially a trial run for your wedding day. You can choose all of your favourite vendors and get a feel for how it might work when your wedding day finally arrives. So when Krischelle and Lachy set a date and asked us to make their wedding cake, I would be lying if I said I wasn’t happy dancing in the kitchen.

Their wedding cake would reflect other elements of their timeless styling with crisp white lines and a lush floral piece arranged on the top. Drawing inspiration from a wedding cake I had made previously and their wedding floral design brief, we arranged tropical monstera leaves, fluffy reflexed roses and phaellenopsis orchids at varying heights to create a sophisticated and impactful wedding cake that beautifully filled the corner of the Victoria Park Garden Marquee with its understated elegance.

After our studio consultation and wedding cake tasting, Krischelle and Lachy settled on two flavours for their cake:

Brownie Points - dense dark chocolate brownie cake filled with vanilla bean Swiss meringue buttercream, roasted salted peanuts, caramel sauce and crushed pretzels

Wild Cherry - white chocolate mud cake filled with vanilla bean Swiss meringue buttercream, vanilla roasted cherries and toasted shredded coconut

Krischelle and Lachy had a very special guest who was celebrating his birthday on their wedding day. As a special touch, we made him a delicious fluffy birthday cupcake with his very own sparkling candle and happy birthday message.

Krischelle and Lachy treated each of their treasured guests to a hand made and individually embossed sugar cookie as a sweet momento of their evening wedding celebrations

Krischelle and Lachlan - Thank you for choosing Petal + Peach to to fill your tummies with the first cake you would eat as Husband and Wife! Your wedding day is one I will remember fondly (even though I may have shed a tear listening to your beautiful ceremony as I set up your cake inside!).
